Bittersweet Memories

My mother was not a gardener in the traditional sense, but there were two plants she loved. One was Lunaria or as she called it, Money Plant, and the other was Bittersweet. Both grew wild where we lived and she would pick them in the fall to decorate our house. When we moved to Colorado, she brought a small bottle of Lunaria seeds and started growing it in our backyard—a little piece of home. Today I grow both in my garden in memory of her.
